Julie and Anthony outside the UN
Julie and Anthony travelled from Zermatt to Geneva on Monday, August 4th.
Chillon Castle (Château de Chillon)
Views from around Lake Geneva
On Tuesday, August 5th, we woke up and saw a text message from Anthony’s sister telling us that his Mom had fallen, shattered her knee cap and was going to need surgery. We quickly agreed we need to cut our trip short and head home. We were able to change our flights, but we weren’t leaving until Thursday, which gave us the rest of Tuesday and Wednesday to see Geneva.
One of Anthony’s highlight was going to the Cerne.
Below are pictures from the Cerne

The Brunswick Monument
Julie on Lake Leman
From the lake, Julie and Anthony walked to the United Nations, stopping for lunch on the way.
Lunch was meh, but very pricey.
The Broken Chair monument It symbolizes opposition to land mines and cluster bombs
Making the most of our day, we took a bus to Voltaire’s house. It was getting late, so we did not go in, but peeked through the fence.
Julie and Anthony’s bus ride lead them to Voltaire’s Chateau in Ferney-Voltaire, across the boarder in France
On their last day Julie and Anthony took a ride on the Ferris Wheel for a birds eye view of Geneva.
Our flight out on Thursday
Our flight was an hour late leaving, which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Paris. Charles De’Gaul airport is a CHALLENGE!! But Air France came through, paid for all of our meals and gave us a place to stay Thursday night. We caught our flight out on Friday with no problems.
